By integrating App42 Analytics and Marketing Automation features in your mobile app you can gather different types of user information – user properties such as location/source/platform, user behavior through events definition and events tracking. Our latest segmentation feature has been built as an extension of this. Segmentation refers to the idea of dividing the user into segments (logically separate categories) in such a manner that action can be taken on them based on their characteristics and behavior.
The Segmentation feature allows you to query the large database of users based on Events, Date of occurrence of events and User Properties. For example – search for all users who clicked on “Install” in October from India. You can name this query and save this query using the Bookmark feature from User Insights > Profile.
Similarly you can break the user database into segments by running separate queries for all users who came from Europe, South East Asia and so on. Since you now have user information divided into categories it is indeed easier to work on the data and take appropriate actions on the data. You are likely to have different strategies for conversion in different countries. You might want to offer further discounts in a particular country whereas you might want to simply give additional loyalty points as an incentive in another country. Segmentation enables you to take different actions on different categories of the data thereby increasing the effectiveness of your marketing endeavors.
