We’re excited to announce the release of a Master Server solution for our AppWarp S2 authoritative game server customers. This solution will be part of the paid package of AppWarp S2 and will be useful for developers who will be deploying multiple instances of the AppWarp S2 game server.
The master server library can be used by developers to build a customized load balancing solution for their AppWarp S2 game server deployment.
Popular MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) games often have thousands of CCUs (Concurrently Connected Users). To handle such a load, developers can either scale their game servers vertically (bigger machines) or horizontally (more number of machines). Beyond a certain threshold most architectures require the latter and hence the need for a master server pops up.
AppWarp S2 was launched earlier this year from ShepHertz and has generated a lot of interest in the developer community of multiplayer gaming. As the adoption has increased, the requests from customers for a companion master server solution too has shoot up.
